Ans. For Sylheti women, the whole matter of pregnancy is one of celebration. All the time she is looked after. When the baby is born it is an occasion of joy for the whole family. The naming ceremony is also lovely.

Man comes on the earth and grows fastly. The baby becomes grown up. Time comes, when the organs become useless. At last, man passes away.

Ans. Once the poet says to his beloved that he wants to go apart from her for sometime. He makes an earnest request to her not to lament during his exilation in solitary. His intention is not to hurt her nor he feels any boring that is why he is going away from her. He wants to feel the pangs of death in life himself during seperation from her. To live seperately is more than death for him. He keeps an oath and swears that he will come to her just after a while spending sometime. As the sun sets daily and again rises in the morning just like he will appear before her. The poet urges that she should not be troubled and penetrated in his absence.
(8) What does the speaker in the poem ‘Fire Hymn’ see in the morning at the ghat?
Ans. The burning ghat is full of the flames of fire. The scene is fearful. The ghosts are moving and frighten the travellers. As the moonlight spread amongst the bones. Ans. He called India a young state of ancient people because it came out of the foreign rule for long. It was not very long back when this freedom achieved. Since it is a nation with its old culture, he called it a state with ancient people.

Ans. They did not hope and did not mean that Benjy should give it backto them, but there was something about the silent, simple finality of his putting the pass-book into his pocket that struck them like a blow in the face.

Ans. No, the speaker is not afraid of death. The poet is saying that when he would die he would be given a corner of a field on the earth hidden from dust. He wanted a peaceful country. It is his dream and always had seen this type of sight that there would be no war between two countries.
